About Lawrence

Experienced. Accessible. Student-focused.

For eight years, I have had the privilege of serving our students, families and Catholic school community. I am seeking re-election because I care deeply about our schools and want to continue doing the work.

Experience

Experience that keeps students first.

Being a Trustee is about listening, asking questions and making decisions that may not always be easy. Above all, it means remembering who those decisions are for.

Eight years

Serving the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board and representing our Catholic school community.

Board leadership

Experience as Vice-Chair and on Audit, SEAC, Student Transportation, Student Discipline and Communications committees.

Community roots

A parent, communicator and longtime community arts leader who has worked with young people and families for more than 25 years.

Inclusion

Every student deserves to belong.

Everyone should be able to live, learn and participate in our community without feeling they have to hide who they are or worry that they will be treated differently.

As a parent and Trustee, I think especially about our young people. Students need to know they are safe, respected and that there are adults who will listen when something is wrong. A sense of belonging can make a real difference in a student's confidence, well-being and ability to succeed.

Building a more inclusive community begins with listening — even when what we hear is uncomfortable. It means asking who benefits from a decision, who might be left out and whether we are doing enough for students who need additional support.

I do not pretend that one Trustee can solve every problem. But I can listen, speak up, ask difficult questions and use my role to help remove barriers.

There is still important work ahead.

I would be grateful for your support and the opportunity to continue representing our students, families, staff and Catholic school communities.
